This outdoor sculptured bench came about by an artist I got to know through the 3 Harbours Exhibition. I was then approached by the then-headmistress of Windygoul Primary in Tranent. A site visit was arranged, and we met with the headmistress. The brief was to build something to commemorate a pupil who had passed away from cancer, and be robust and something with which the pupils could interact. I tried to give the pupils something to climb on, and not just sit on. It was constructed using Mahogany marine ply: three 18mm sheets laminated together, then the curved shape applied. The seat slats are Solid Mahogany.
