This was an interesting commission in that it was to be built-in to a thatched house bedroom in Great Missenden. The design came from a chest of drawers and double bed already in the room: chunky, robust and covered in wood-worm! All the carcasses were made from 18mm MDF in manageable size boxes, as to fit up the tight, narrow staircase. The drawers inside were made from Birch Plywood, set upon metal ball bearing runners. All doors and drawer fronts were made from European Oak. A slight, dark oak Osmo Oil stain was used to finish and match other furniture. The worm holds were created with a dabbling tool. I spent 5 days and 4 nights living and working in the clients house while they were on holiday!
